About the event

Safeguarding Workshop attendance is a requirement every three years for all volunteers, religious and staff in Catholic Parishes and Faith Communities in New Zealand. Safeguarding Training forms part of inductions for new or prospective volunteers, religious and staff. Volunteers are required to attend a safeguarding workshop every three years.   It is a top priority of the Catholic Church to continue to commit to implementing and maintaining cultures of safeguarding, in order to keep our children, our vulnerable adults and all who volunteer, serve and worship in our communities safe from harm.  Cultures of safeguarding are a shared responsibility.  The Church has zero tolerance for abuse.
