About the event
This SVdP Safeguarding Workshop is tailored to conference members and shop volunteers of St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies). In this workshop there is a presentation and discussions on different safeguarding scenarios encountered, what is a safeguarding concern in the work of a Vincentian and how to keep ourselves and others safe in serving those who face adversity. Q&A session throughout the session. As a NZ Catholic organisation who in 2021 signed the Church National Safeguarding Policy, all aspects of the society are required to meet best and safe practices. This includes signing a Code of Practice/Conduct, background checking and police vetting. St Vincent de Paul are committed to the ongoing strengthening of safe practices for Vincentians when taking care of the safety of members, colleagues and clients.
